ENEMY OF THE PEOPLEToday, we no longer live in an age of truth or facts – we live in an age of „interpretations“. Everyone has their own truth; realities are bent according to whom they serve. Ibsen’s Enemy of the People is, for us, not only a specific example of an individual rising up against the majority – it is a political example that extends directly into the social reality of both ourselves and our audience. The story of Dr. Stockmann shows us how easily truth can be suppressed when it threatens the interests of the majority, and how any one of us – any ordinary person – can be turned into an enemy in the eyes of the public.
